Apparently, Tourism Victoria’s CEO is more than just a pretty face with some marketing panache.
Rob Gialloreto has been named one of the Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing by Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International. The annual award recognizes the best sales and marketing professionals in the travel and tourism industries in North America. “Victoria is very fortunate to have a great mind and great personality to market our worldrenowned destination,” said Randy Wright, chairman of Tourism Victoria. “I feel very fortunate as chairman of the Tourism Victoria board of directors to have Rob as our president and CEO.” Gialloreto said the award came as a surprise, but deflected praise to the destination marketing organization. “It's a surprising honour to be named among selective company. I am happy to accept the recognition on behalf of our overall organization, which is what I truly believe this award is about,” he said.
Also named among the top 25 were Tourism Victoria member Peter R. B. Armstrong, founder of the Armstrong Group, owner of the Rocky Mountaineer train and Gray Line West, and Giséle Danis, executive director for strategic marketing with the Canadian Tourism Commission.
